Do not pry on nozzle while attempting
to POP spot welds.
The parent metal must not be affected
as an abrasion may cause stress ris-
ers or pin hole burn-through.
a. Remove nozzle blanket (4) if beyond repair
limits. There is no harm done if blanket is dam-
aged during removal.
(1) Remove three retainers (5) on aft nozzle
openings with a non-metallic pry. Use spatula
