FLIGHT SAFETY PART
The tail rotor pitch link assembly and/or components of the pitch link assembly are flight
safety parts. Failure to follow maintenance instructions may result in serious injury or death
of crewmembers and/or serious damage to the helicopter.
Heat treated condition of the tail rotor pitch link assembly and/or components of the pitch
link assembly is critical to its serviceability. Any indication of heat oxidizing (discoloration),
where visually detectable, requires replacement of the part. This part must be protected from
unscheduled heating and external impact during inspection and handling procedures.
This task is typical for all four pitch links.
