PILOT GLARESHIELD EXTENSION ASSEMBLY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
2.157.3. Removal
a. Enter pilot and/or CPG station (para 1.56). Ob-
serve all safety precautions.
b. Remove pilot right extension assembly (1)
from fixed glareshield assembly (2).
(1) Hold spring (3) on guide assembly (4) out of
way.
(2) Insert 6-inch scale between glareshield track
(5) and channel assembly (6) to release lock
(7).
(3) Slide track (5) on right extension (1) out of
channel (6) on glareshield (2).
c. Remove pilot left extension assembly (8) from
glareshield (2).
(1) Hold spring (9) on guide assembly (10) out of
way.
(2) Insert 6-inch scale between track (11) and
channel assembly (12) to release lock (13).
(3) Slide track (11) on extension (8) out of chan-
nel (12) on glareshield (2).
2.157.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
2.157.5. Inspection
a. Check extensions for cracks. None allowed.
b. Check channel and track for freedom of move-
ment.
c. Check guides on glareshield and extensions
for cracks. None allowed.
