b. Remove outboard coupling nut (2) from en-
gine inlet coupling (3).
c. Remove coupling (3).
(1) Open outboard end of top coupling half (4).
(2) Slide up bottom coupling half (5) until clear of
flanges (6) and (7).
4.73.4. Cleaning
a. Clean removed and attaching parts (para
1.47).
4.73.5. Inspection
a. Check flanges and coupling for cracks. None
allowed.
b. Check flanges and coupling for corrosion
(para 1.49).
4.73.6. Installation
NOTE
When installing coupling assembly, tight-
en coupling nut to approximately 70 per-
cent of maximum indicated torque. Tap
around outside of coupling with a rubber
mallet to distribute band tension. Torque
nut to specified value. Do not over torque.
a. Install engine inlet coupling (3). Torque inboard
coupling nut (1) and outboard coupling nut (2) to
35 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Slide bottom coupling half (5) over flanges (6)
and (7).
