REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
g. Install locknut (10) and washer (13) on shaft
(2). Torque locknut (10) to 1050 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Hand tighten locknut (10) with washer (13) on
shaft (2).
(2) Insert a 1/2-inch drive 10-inch long extension
(8) into shaft, (2) making sure it engages
square hole in shaft.
(3) Slide socket (9) down extension (8) until lock-
nut (10) is engaged. Use spanner wrench
socket.
(4) Install a 1/2-inch drive ratchet handle (11) on
extension (8) and hold.
(5) Insert a 1/2-inch drive wrench handle (12) in
outer offset hole of socket (9).
(6) Simultaneously turn both ratchet handle (11)
and wrench handle (12) in opposite directions
to tighten locknut (10) until completely seated
on shaft (2).
(7) Remove ratchet handle (11).
(8) Replace wrench handle (12) with torque
wrench and torque locknut (10) to 1050
INCH-POUNDS while holding ratchet handle
(11) to prevent shaft (2) from rotating.
