FORWARD FUEL CELL REFUELING BREAKAWAY VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
CAUTION
To prevent damage to fuel line connec-
tors, do not intermix couplings or parts
that are similar but made by different
manufacturers.
e. Install line (2) on valve (1) in ammunition bay.
(1) Install two washers (8) on ferrules (21) and
(22).
(2) Lubricate two new packings (7). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Install packings (7) on ferrules (21) and (22).
(4) Install restrictor (6) between ferrules (21) and
(22).
(5) Install retainer halves (5) over ferrules (21)
and (22) and restrictor (6). Packings (7)
should be located on outside of retainer
halves (5).
(6) Lubricate threads of body (4). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(7) Slide and hold nut (3) over retainer (5).
(8) Hand tighten body (4).
f. Inspect (QA).
g. Install forward fuel cell aft access panel and
aft cover (para 10.8).
h. Perform pressure refueling/defueling mainte-
nance operational check (TM 1-1520-238-T).
