AFTER STARTING APU (CONT)
(c) IAT OFS switch – Actuate.
Verify turret responds to
thumbforce controller
commands and allows
movement about 20
percent of the available
field of view.
(d) IAT OFS switch –
Reactuate. Observe TADS
crosshairs move smoothly
towards IAT target, then
jump suddenly onto the
selected target.
(e) IAT polarity select switch –
Verify tracking remains
unchanged when
appropriate polarity and/or
AUTO polarity is selected,
but break lock occurs when
the opposite polarity is
selected. Disengage IAT
before excessive turret
movement rates occur.
(3) Range focus adjustment –
Check as follows:
(a) Select a target at least 500
meters distant.
(b) FOV select switch – N.
