EQUIPMENT CHARACTERISTICS, CAPABILITIES, AND FEATURES
41
a. Characteristics.
The T700GE701 and T700GE701C engines consist of an accessory section
module, a cold section module, a hot section module and a power turbine module.
b. Capabilities and Features.
The T700GE701 and T700GE701C engines provides power to the
drive system. Helicopters with T700GE701C engines are equipped with a digital electronic control (DEC) which
performs the same functions as the elctronic control unit (ECU) on the T700GE701.

LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR COMPONENTS
42
a. Power Plants.
The major components of the power plants (fig. 41) consist of two T700GE701 or
T700GE701C front drive turboshaft engines and related subsystems. Engine 1 is on the left side of the
helicopter and engine 2 is on the right.

b. Related Subsystems.
Related subsystems control the engines and provide cooling and engine exhaust.
The subsystems include the following:
Engine Cooling Subsystem.
Provides cool air for the engines.
Engine AntiIce Subsystem.
Prevents icing of the engine air inlets and the nose gearboxes
(NGB).
