(5) Auxiliary Fuel System Check Valves.
The auxiliary fuel system check valves, mounted on the
upper right side of the ammunition bay, prevent fuel from entering the auxiliary fuel tanks during refueling or
internal transfer operations. A narrow red band on the end indicates that it is a fuel system low pressure check
valve. An arrow stamped on the barrel indicates direction of flow. Inside the valve body is a 1-way, spring-loaded
flapper valve.
