3.16.14 Pilot High Action Display (HAD)
The Pilot
HAD Sight Status and Weapon Status fields have been
modified to allow display of DistanceToGo and Time
ToGo (figure 3-25.24) to the current FLYTO destination
and the active flyto symbol. The new Sight Status and
Weapon Status Field prompts replace the existing, lowest
priority displays. The new displays are outprioritized by
all other HAD displays.

PILOT HIGH ACTION DISPLAY
(HAD)
a. Sight Status Field. The Sight Status Field is modi-
fied to provide DistanceToGo from PPOS to the se-
lected FLYTo location. Character space 1 and 2 are
blank. Character spaces 3 to 8 provide the DistanceTo
Go, with a colon in space 6 (providing 100 meter resolu-
tion to the pilot) and a K or N (Kilometers or Nautical
miles) in space 8. Units are selectable by the CPG using
the CDU. All numerals in this display are refreshed at 1Hz.
b. Weapon Status Field. The Weapon Status Field
provides, as its three lowest priorities prompts, HSI CUE?,
TimeToGo (TTG) from PPOS to the selected FLYTO
and the active fly_to symbol. The HSI CUE? is the highest
priority and is the same indication to the pilot as the advi-
sory message DNS/HSI NAV CUES ?? is to the CPG. It is
removed from the pilot weapon status display when the
CPG clears the Advisory message. The TTG display is the
lowest priority and is in hours and minutes (H:MM) if the
TTG is greater than 5 minutes. This display changes to
minutes and seconds (M:SS) when TTG is less than 5
minutes. The first character space will be H (Hours) or M
(minutes). The second character space is a colon (:). The
third and fourth character spaces will be either MM (min-
ute values 00 to 59) or SS second values 00 to 59). The
fifth, sixth and seventh character spaces will display the
flyto symbol (W01 through T80) The eighth character
space is blank. All characters relating to TTG become
dashed when the TTG is greater than 9 hours and 59 min-
utes or the ground speed is less than 10 KTS.
c. Trim Ball. The trim ball will flash when the HARS
has been free inertial for 20 seconds or more, and aircraft
groundspeed is less than 10 knots.
