j. Install cylinder (9) to anchor (10).
(1) Install washer (12) and nut (11).
k. Install clip (5) on glareshield (6).
(1) Install two screws (7) and washers (8).
WARNING
Severance assembly is an explosive
device. Do not remove canopy jettison
handle safety pin or move jettison
handle. Detonation may cause severe
injury to personnel. If injury occurs,
seek medical aid.
CAUTION
Install detonating cord with care. Do not
twist cord or damage booster cup on end
of cord. Damage to cord or cup may af-
fect performance of severance assembly.
l. Install cord (1) in severance device (2). Torque
nipple (3) to 80 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Lubricate packing (4). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Install new packing (4) on nipple (3).
(3) Install nipple (3) in severance device (2).
