MAIN TRANSMISSION ROTOR BRAKE SEAL REPLACEMENT – continued
6.67.3. Removal
a. Remove ring (1) from transmission (2).
(1) Remove and discard lockwire from ring (1).
(2) Remove ring (1). Use socket set and hinged
handle.
(3) Remove and discard packing (3) from ring
(1).
b. Remove and discard seal (4). Use bushing
driver set.
6.67.4. Cleaning
a. Clean removed and attaching parts or sur-
faces (para 1.47).
6.67.5. Inspection
a. Check ring for damaged threads. None al-
lowed.
b. Check removed components for corrosion
(para 1.49).
6.67.6. Installation
a. Install seal (4) in ring (1).
(1) Apply sealant to seal (4). Use sealing
compound (item 161, App F).
(2) Press seal (4) in ring (1). Use bushing driver
set.
(3) Allow sealant to become tack free, 10 MIN-
UTES minimum.
