10.15.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install valve (1).
(1) Lubricate new packing (9). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Install packing (9) on mounting pad (8).
(3) Position valve (1) on mounting pad (8) with
bracket (10) facing aft.
(4) Aline holes in bracket (10) with holes in
bracket (5).
(5) Install six bolts (6) and washers (7).
(6) Install two bolts (3) and washers (4).
b. Inspect (QA).
c. Install forward fuel cell aft access panel and
aft cover (para 10.8).
d. Perform pressure refueling/defueling mainte-
nance operational check (TM 1-1520-238-T).
