FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM BEARING/BUSHING REPLACEMENT (AVIM)
11.4.3. Removal
a. Remove defective bearing/bushing (1) from
housing (2) mating bore. Use puller kit
(TM 55-1500-322-24).
b. Discard bearing/bushing (1).
11.4.4. Cleaning
a. Clean housing mating bore(s) (para 1.47).
11.4.5. Inspection
a. Check housing for cracks.
(1) If cracks are suspected, perform nondestruc-
tive inspection (TM 1-1520-264-23).
b. Check housing for scoring, nicks, and
scratches.
(1) Scoring, nicks, and scratches are acceptable
if less than 0.025 INCH deep.
c. Check housing for corrosion (para 1.49).
d. Measure diameter of mating bore(s) in hous-
ing (QA).
(1) Diameter shall not exceed maximum listed in
Table 11-1. Use appropriate cylinder gage
and caliper set.
(2) Out-of-roundness tolerance shall not exceed
one-half the diametrical (size) tolerance listed
in Table 11-1. The tolerance shall be main-
tained for the total depth of the housing mat-
ing bore(s). Use appropriate cylinder gage
