d. Remove link (1) from pivot stud (5).
(1) Remove and discard cotter pin (6).
(2) Remove link (1) from stud (5).
e. Measure and record distance A from center of
rod end (7) to bottom of nut (8).
f. Discard link (1).
12.11.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe attaching parts with a clean rag.
12.11.5. Inspection
a. Check studs and nut for stripped or damaged
threads (para 12.1).
b. Check attaching parts for corrosion (para
1.49).
12.11.6. Installation
a. Adjust rod end (7) on new link (1) to distance
A recorded in paragraph 12.11.3.
(1) Loosen nut (8). Adjust rod end (7).
(2) Hold rod end (7) parallel with mating surface.
Tighten nut (8).
