Repeat steps 5 through 8, setting channels 19 through 15
in order, substituting Training/Maintenance WOD for exist-
ing preset channels. After preset channel 15 frequency
has been entered, the WOD must be initialized.
3.7B.5 Initializing the Word Of Day (WOD).
NOTE
If power is lost, or if preset channel 20 is se-
lected when the MANUALPRESET
GUARD switch is in the PRESET position,
the initialize procedure will be required
again. To use this WOD, a TOD and NET
must be entered.
1. CHAN switch Set to Channel 20. A single beep
should be heard.
2. CHAN switch Set to Channel 19. A single beep
should be heard.
3. CHAN switch Set to Channel 18. A single beep
should be heard.
4. CHAN switch Set to Channel 17. A single beep
should be heard.
NOTE
If TOD is being automatically beaconed
from another station, the first TOD message
received within one minute of selected T
position will be accepted.
5. CHAN switch Set to Channel 16. A single beep
should be heard.
6. CHAN switch Set to Channel 15. A double
beep should be heard.
7. Function Selector switch MNL. This will pre-
vent accidental erasure of the initialized WOD.
3.7B.6 Multiple Word Of Day (MWOD) Loading.
1. CHAN switch Set to Channel 20.
2. Function Selector switch PRESET.
3. Frequency switches Set to 220.025 (MWOD
LOAD).
4. LOAD button Lift preset frequency label cover
and push LOAD button. Listen for single beep.
NOTE
If radio is now in the MWOD load mode.
MLOAD will be displayed on the fre-
quency/status indicator for five seconds
by pressing the STATUS switch.
The radio will transmit and receive in the
VERIFY/OPERATE mode only. The radio
is disabled and will not transmit or receive
in the MLOAD, ERASE, or FMT.CHG
modes.
5. Function Selector switch MNL.
6. CHAN switch Set to Channel 20.
7. Frequency switches Set to the first WOD ele-
ment.
8. TTONE switch Toggle to TONE and release.
Listen for a wavering tone. The first WOD ele-
ment is now entered.
Repeat steps 5 thru 8 for presets 19 thru 15, in that order,
substituting WOD elements for existing preset channels.
9. CHAN switch Set to Channel 14.
NOTE
If two or more WODs have the same date
code, the radio recognizes only the latest
date entered.
MWODs must be linked with an associat-
ed dayofmonth code. This date code
element has been added to every opera-
tional and training segment in HAVE
QUICK and need only be loaded when
MWOD is used.
10. Frequency switches Set to the applicable day
of the month code. Code format is XAB.XXX,
where A and B are the day of the month the
WOD is used. X can represent any value. For
example, if today were 26 June, then select
226.025 or 326.475.
11. TTONE switch Toggle to TONE and release.
Listen for a double beep. One complete WOD is
now loaded. To load more WODs, repeat steps 5
thru 11.
NOTE
The operational date is the current Day of
Month and must be entered into Channel 1
so the radio can select the proper WOD.
