BEFORE EACH FLIGHT
IF AIRCRAFT HAS AUXILIARY FUEL TANKS INSTALLED, CHECK PYLONS FOR
THE FOLLOWING:
a. Open pylon fairing P1 (para 2.2).
b. Visually inspect the pylon rack yoke area of the pylon frame (where pylon
rack hollow pin is installed), and the front and side plates of frame for
cracks. None allowed.
c. Slightly rock nose of auxiliary fuel tank back and forth to reveal cracks.
d. If cracks are found, replace the pylon frame (para 16.22).

25 FLIGHT HOURS
CHECK INTERMEDIATE AND TAIL ROTOR GEARBOXES FOR THE FOLLOWING:
a. Check intermediate gearbox grease level (para 1.30) and service if
necessary.
b. Check tail rotor gearbox grease level (para 1.31) and service if necessary.

6 MONTH/ 250 HOUR MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION ON BASIC AND
7-311411102-3 M/R RETENTION NUT (TM 1-1520-264-23)
a. Check configuration of main rotor retention nut after each removal.
b. If nut cannot be positively identified, measure the (OD) of nut.
(1) The (OD) measurement is 8.120 INCHES for a basic or
7-311411102-3 configuration nut.
(2) The (OD) measurement is 8.350 INCHES for a 7-311411102-5
configuration nut.
NOTE
Configuration other than the -5 nut must have magnetic particle inspec-
tion completed.
c. If required, complete magnetic particle inspection (TM 1-1520-264-23).
