j. Check fittings for crossed, burred, and stripped threads when hoses and tubes are disconnected. Cap
or plug all disconnected fittings. Plug all open ports. Replace all packings and seals on fittings to be used again.
To indicate exact location, identify ends before disconnecting lines and hoses.
k. Check general mounting hardware for cracks, gouges, nicks, scratches, chafing, damage, rounded
flats, and stripped or damaged threads. Replace damaged hardware.
l. Check electrical connectors for:
(1) Foreign objects and corroded, bent, broken, loose, or missing pins (TM 55-1500-323-24).
(2) Dirt, contamination with fluids, or rough locking action (TM 55-1500-323-24).
m. Check wire harness for chafing and loose installation (TM 55-1500-323-24).
n. If a pump is known to have operated without fluid 5 minutes or more:
(1) Replace pump.
(2) Remove and check pressure strainer element for metallic particles (para 7.69).
o. Check utility hydraulic manifold air check valve for cleanliness of filter. If filter is contaminated, install
new filter (para 7.160).
