10.7.3. Removal
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of
fuel cell to swell, delaminate, and leak
if allowed to contact the fuel cell more
than 72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away
from the outside of fuel cells.
Store fuel quantity transmitter wire
harness in a location or container that
will prevent damage to harness, if har-
ness must be temporarily removed to
service fuel cell.
a. Detach connector P942 (1) from receptacle
(A58)J2 (2).
b. Detach connector P263 (3) from receptacle
(A58)J1 (4).
c. Remove forward cover (5) from forward fuel
cell (6).
(1) Remove sealer from four bolts (7).
(2) Remove four bolts (7) and washers (8).
(3) Remove 20 bolts (9) and washers (10).
(4) Lift cover (5) from fuel cell (6).
d. Remove clamp (11) from cover (5).
(1) Hold bolt (12). Remove nut (13), washer (14),
clamp (11), and spacer (15).
(2) Remove bolt (12), washer (16), and packing
with retainer (17). Discard packing with re-
tainer.
