FORWARD FUEL CELL REMOVAL – continued
q. Exhaust air from fuel cell (8). Use vacuum
cleaner.
(1) Install vacuum cleaner adapter (63) on quick-
disconnect plug (64).
(2) Install vacuum cleaner hose (65) on adapter
(63).
(3) Turn shutoff valve knob (66) counterclock-
wise to open valve (67).
(4) Start vacuum cleaner (68) to exhaust air from
fuel cell (8).
(5) Continue to collapse fuel cell (8).
(6) Turn knob (66) clockwise to close valve (67).
(7) Shutoff vacuum cleaner (68).
(8) Remove hose (65) from adapter (63).
(9) Remove adapter (63) from plug (64).
r. Continue to collapse fuel cell (8). Bind cell with
three straps (69) from fuel cell kit.
s. To prevent damage to fuel cell, cover sharp
edges of helicopter structure with tape. Use
tape (item 201, App F).
CAUTION
Do not pull fuel cell by its fittings. Do not
force removal or pry on fuel cell with
sharp objects.
t. Remove fuel cell (8) from helicopter. Use
straps (69) as hand holds. Two persons assist.
u. Place fuel cell (8) on blanket (70). Use blanket
from fuel cell removal and installation kit. Two
persons assist.
v. Remove three straps (69) from fuel cell (8).
