AFT FUEL CELL FUEL OUTLET BREAKAWAY VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
d. Remove aft fuel outlet breakaway valve (11).
(1) Remove four bolts (12) and washers (13).
(2) Remove valve (11) from mounting pad (14).
(3) Remove and discard packing (15).
10.43.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
10.43.5. Inspection
a. Check fuel supply hose for cracks, nicks, and
damaged threads (para 10.1).
10.43.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Position valve (11) on mounting pad (14).
(1) Lubricate new packing (15). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Place packing (15) on mounting pad (14).
(3) Position valve (11) on pad (14). Adapter (6)
must face forward.
