AFT FUEL CELL REFUELING HOSE REPLACEMENT – continued
10.44.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for
cracks, nicks, gouges, dents, and missing
teeth (para 10.1).
10.44.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install hose (1) on valve (7).
(1) Lubricate threads of connector (8). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Install connector (8) on adapter (9).
(3) Turn connector (8) until seated and locking
teeth engage with adapter (9).
b. Install hose (1) on valve (2).
(1) Lubricate new gasket (6) on both sides. Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Install gasket (6) on flange of valve (2).
(3) Place refueling hose mounting flange (5) on
valve (2). Aline bolt holes.
(4) Install four bolts (3) and washers (4).
