Allow sealing compound to cure 10
HOURS at ambient temperature.
b. Install plug (3) in repair cavity (4).
(1) Seal all lightening holes, tooling holes or oth-
er openings, excluding drain holes, that will
be exposed to raw filler. Use spatula set and
sealing compound (item 163, App F).
(2) Tape backside of sealed lightening and tool-
ing holes, nutplates, receptacles and other
hardware which would be functionally im-
paired by adhesive contamination. Use tape
(item 200, App F).
NOTE
Allow sealing compound to cure 40
HOURS at ambient temperature.
(3) Mix sealing compound and apply to faying
surfaces (5) on plug (3) and in repair cavity
(4). Use brush (item 36, App F) and sealing
compound (item 162, App F).
(4) Install plug (3) into repair cavity (4). Press
firmly into place.
(5) Remove excess sealing compound and all
debris and foreign objects. Use knife, spatula
set, and vacuum cleaner.
(6) Fill all voids around plug (3) with sealing com-
pound. Use brush (item 36, App F) and
sealing compound (item 162, App F).
(7) Lightly sand repair area to match adjacent
area. Use paper (item 132, App F).
