FUEL TRANSFER SHUTOFF VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
10.74.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install valve (6) on bracket (7).
(1) Install body (4) on hose (5).
(2) Lubricate two new packings (12). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Install one packing (12) on hose (5).
(4) Install one packing (12) on fitting (10).
(5) Lubricate two new packings (11). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(6) Install two packings (11) in valve (6).
(7) Position fitting (10) on valve (6).
(8) Install four bolts (8) through eight washers
(9), fitting (10), valve (6), refuel hose fitting
(13), four washers (9), and bracket (7).
b. Install retainer (3).
(1) Center body (4) over packings (12).
(2) Position retainer (3) around body (4).
(3) Latch retainer (3). Ensure safety spring (14)
is fully locked.
