FUEL TRANSFER PUMP INSTALLATION – continued
(2) Lubricate new packings (4) and (5). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Install packings (4) and (5) on elbows (2) and
(3).
(4) Install elbows (2) and (3) into pump bosses
(6) and (7). Do not tighten elbows (2) and (3).
(5) Lubricate threads of elbow (8), tube assembly
(9), and connector (10). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(6) Lubricate new packings (11), (12), and (13).
Use petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(7) Install packing (11) on elbow (8).
(8) Install packings (12) and (13) on tube assem-
bly (9) and connector (10).
(9) Install elbow (8) in pump boss (14). Do not
tighten elbow (8).
(10) Install connector (10) in pump boss (15). Use
box wrench.
(11) Install tube assembly (9) in pump boss (16).
(12) Apply corrosion preventive compound inside
elbows (2), (3) and (8). Use corrosion
preventive compound (item 64, App F).
b. Install body (17) on fuel shutoff valve fitting
(18).
c. Install pump (1) on mounting bracket (19).
(1) Install three bolts (20) through three washers
(21), bracket (19), and pump (1).
(2) Perform electrical bond check on three bolts
(20) (TM 55-1500-323-24).
(a) Bond shall be 1.0 OHM or less. Use
multimeter.
