FUEL TRANSFER PUMP INSTALLATION – continued
NOTE
Safety spring will not latch unless body is
correctly installed.
d. Install fuel line of shutoff valve (18) on con-
nector (10).
(1) Lubricate two new packings (22). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Install packings (22) on connector (10) and
fuel line of shutoff valve (18).
(3) Position body (17) over packings (22).
(4) Position retainer (23) over body (17).
(5) Latch retainer (23). Ensure safety spring (24)
is fully locked.
e. Install tube (9) on fuel inlet tube fitting (25).
(1) Lubricate two new packings (26). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Install packings (26) on tube (9) and fitting
(25).
(3) Center body (27) over packings (26).
(4) Position retainer (28) over body (27).
(5) Latch retainer (28). Ensure safety spring (29)
is fully locked.
(6) Hold nut (30). Tighten jam nut (31).
