MAIN ROTOR SWASHPLATE SHOULDER PIN REPLACEMENT continued
11.8.3. Removal
WARNING
A heater can cause severe burns. Do
not allow heater to contact skin. Wear
protective equipment. If injury occurs,
seek medical aid.
a. Remove shoulder pin (1) from swashplate (2).
(1) Remove and discard cotter pin (3).
NOTE
The maximum number of washers
stacked up behind nut is two.
(2) Remove nut (4) and two washers (5) from pin
(1).
(3) Heat area of pin orifice area to 200 F (93.3
C). Use heater and pyrometer and
thermocouple tester.
(4) Remove pin (1) from swashplate (2). Use
hydraulic press.
11.8.4. Cleaning
a. Clean swashplate shoulder pin mating bore
and surrounding area (para 1.47).
11.8.5. Inspection
a. Check swashplate shoulder pin mating bore
for cracks (para 11.5).
b. Check swashplate shoulder pin mating bore
for gouges. Not to exceed 0.005 INCH.
c. Check swashplate shoulder pin mating bore
for corrosion (para 1.49).
