d. Measure diameter of pin mating bore in
swashplate. Diameter shall not exceed 0.8135
INCH. Use caliper. Replace swashplate if mea-
surement exceeds limits.
11.8.6. Installation
WARNING
A heater can cause severe burns.
Do not allow heater to contact skin.
Wear protective equipment. If injury
occurs, seek medical aid.
Handling frozen items presents a
serious low temperature burn po-
tential. Temperature resistant
gloves are required.
a. Install shoulder pin (1) in swashplate (2).
Torque nut (4) 55 to 66 FOOT-POUNDS.
(1) Freeze shoulder pin (1) in freezer at 0 F (-18
C) or below for 3 hours or use carbon dioxide
(item 40, App F).
(2) Heat swashplate pin orifice area to 200 F
(93.3 C). Use heater and pyrometer and
thermocouple tester.
(3) Install shoulder pin (1) in swashplate (2). Use
hydraulic press.
(4) Install two washers (5) and nut (4) on shoul-
der pin (1).
(5) Torque nut (4) to 55 FOOT-POUNDS. Use
torque wrench.
(6) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 66 FOOT-POUNDS.
(7) Install new cotter pin (3).
(8) Apply sealing compound around nut (4) and
washer(s) (5). Use sealing compound
(item 176, App F).
b. Inspect (QA).
