11.155. PILOT DIRECTIONAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) SHEAR PIN
REPLACEMENT continued
11.155.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
11.155.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 11.5).
b. Check removed and attaching parts for corro-
sion (para 1.49).
c. Check all installed bushing(s) and/or bear-
ing(s) for wear (para 11.5).
d. Check all removed bushing(s) and/or bear-
ing(s) for wear (para 11.4).
11.155.6. Installation
a. Install shear pin (12) in SPAD (9) and arm (2).
(1) Aline arm (2) with SPAD (9).
(2) Ensure that switch detent (13) and switch
position lever (14) are engaged.
(3) Lubricate tapered end of shear pin (12). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(4) Insert shear pin (12) through arm (2) and
SPAD (9).
NOTE
Install retainer finger tight.
b. Install retainer (8) on SPAD (9).
c. Lockwire retainer (8) to arm (2). Use wire
(item 220, App F).
