11.188. LONGITUDINAL MAGNETIC BRAKE SPRING MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
b. Remove nut (5) and washer (6).
c. Remove bolt (7) and washer (6).
d. Remove feel spring cartridge (8) from spring
mechanism (9).
(1) Remove and discard cotter pin (10).
(2) Remove nut (11).
(3) Remove bolt (12), washer (13), and bushing
(14).
(4) Remove cartridge (8).
e. Remove spring mechanism (9) from airframe
(15).
(1) Remove four bolts (16) and washers (17).
(2) Slide spring mechanism (9) off magnetic
brake shaft (18).
(3) Remove spring mechanism (9).
NOTE
Identify position of shim and spacer rings
for proper placement during installation.
(4) Remove shim (19), spacers (20) and (21)
from shaft (18).
(5) Retain shim (19) and spacers (20) and (21)
for installation.
