h. Test tail rotor gearbox alarm control unit.

(1) Using test lead (figure D-465, App D), short J124–8 (ground) to pins
1, 3, 5, and 7 of J124. The caution light (TEMP TR) should illuminate
for each pin shorted.
(2) If light fails to illuminate for any one pin shorted, replace tail rotor
gearbox alarm unit (para 9.125).
(3) If light fails to illuminate for all pins shorted, perform continuity test on
wiring between J124 and P18 (TM 1-1520-238-T).
(4) If open wire does not exist, replace tail rotor gearbox alarm unit (para
9.125).
i. Test intermediate gearbox alarm control unit.
(1) Using test lead (figure D-465, App D), short J124–16 (ground) to pins
9, 11, 13, and 15 of J124. The caution light (TEMP TR) should
illuminate for each pin shorted.
(2) If light fails to illuminate for any pin shorted, replace intermediate
gearbox alarm unit (para 9.125).
(3) If light fails to illuminate for all pins shorted, perform continuity test on
wiring between J124 and P18 (TM 1-1520-238-T).
(4) If open wire does not exist, replace intermediate gearbox alarm unit
(para 9.125).
j. If both alarm units pass test performed in steps h. and i., remove battery
power and disconnect battery (para 9.40).
k. Attach connector P124 to receptacle J124.
l. Install fairings R510, L510, and tailboom cover R545 (para 2.2.).
