2.167.3. Removal
a. Enter pilot or CPG station (para 1.56). Observe
all safety precautions.
b. Remove armored wing panel (1) from aircraft
armored crew seat (2).
(1) Remove nine self-locking nuts (3) and wash-
ers (4) from shear bolts (5). Discard nuts (3).
(2) Remove nine bolts (5) and washers (6) from
panel (1).
(3) Remove panel (1).
CAUTION
Pounding or hammering on armored sur-
face to remove foreign material can dam-
age tile.
2.167.4. Cleaning
a. Clean and remove all foreign material includ-
ing any residual adhesive from bonding sur-
faces. Use cloth (item 48, App F).
b. Clean surfaces to be bonded. Use cloth
(item 52, App F) and isopropyl alcohol (item 106,
App F).
2.167.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 2.12).
