b. Remove forward fuel cell aft cover (11).
(1) Remove bolt (12), washer (13), and bonding
strap (14).
(2) Remove 23 bolts (15) and washers (16).
(3) Remove cover (11).
(4) Remove and discard packing (17) from
mounting pad (18).
10.8.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
10.8.5. Inspection
a. Check aft cover and cover mounting pad for
damaged helicoil inserts, cracks, corrosion,
nicks, gouges, and damaged packing groove
(para 10.1).
b. Check aft access panel and panel mounting
area for cracks, corrosion, nicks, and gouges
(para 10.1).
NOTE
Holes between weave patterns on the
backing board and uneven or rough sur-
faces caused by weave patterns are ac-
ceptable.
c. Check fuel cell backing board on access pan-
el for loose, missing or broken rivets, cracks,
and delamination. Repair backing board
(TM 1-1500-204-23).
d. Check fuel quantity transmitter wire harness
for cuts, nicks, and fuel seepage. None al-
lowed.
