FORWARD FUEL CELL FILLER NECK REMOVAL – continued
10.26.3. Removal
a. Remove access cover (1) from transmission
deck (2).
(1) Remove fillet seal from around cover (1).
(2) Remove nine screws (3) and packings with
retainer (4). Discard nine packings with re-
tainers (4).
(3) Remove grommet and wire bundle (5) from
slot in cover (1).
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
b. Remove filler neck (6) and grounding strap (7)
from fuel cell (8).
(1) Remove sealant from bolt (9) that attaches
grounding strap (7).
(2) Remove six bolts (9), washers (10), and
grounding strap (7).
c. Remove filler neck (6) from forward gravity
filler port (11).
(1) Remove 12 bolts (12) and washers (13).
