10.30.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
10.30.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for nicks,
cracks, dents, and damaged threads (para
10.1).
10.30.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install tube (2).
(1) Place coupling (9) on tube (14).
(2) Lubricate two new packings (10). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Install one packing (10) on tube (2).
(4) Install one packing (10) on tube (14).
(5) Slide and center coupling (9) over packings
(10).
(6) Install retainer (8) over coupling (9). Ensure
safety spring (15) is locked.
