10.31.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install adapter (14) on pad (15).
(1) Lubricate new packing (18). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Install packing (18) on pad (15).
(3) Place adapter (14) on pad (15) and aline bolt
holes.
(4) Install six bolts (16) and washers (17).
(5) Perform electrical bond check on bolts (16)
(TM 55-1500-323-24).
(a) Bond shall be 1.0 OHM or less. Use
multimeter.
(6) Seal heads of six bolts (16). Use sealing
compound (item 175, App F).
