11.153. PILOT DIRECTIONAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) INSTALLATION – continued
h. Install directional push-pull rod (39) on SPAD
(1). Torque nut (40) 30 to 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Aline rod (39) with SPAD (1).
(2) Install bushing (41) in SPAD (1).
(3) Install bolt (42) through washer (43), bushing
(41), SPAD (1), and rod (39).
(4) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (42) (para
11.1).
(5) Install nut (40). Torque nut (40) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(6) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(7) Install new cotter pin (44).
i. Remove rig pins (45), (46), and (47).
(1) Remove -9 rig pin (45) from SPAD (1) and
bracket (2).
(2) Remove -9 rig pin (46) from F.S. 110 bracket
(48) and bellcrank (49).
(3) Remove -9 rig pin (47) from F.S. 164 bell-
crank (50) and bracket (51).
j. Inspect (QA).
k. Perform directional flight control rigging
maintenance
operational
check
(TM 1-1520-238-T).
l. Perform DASE maintenance operational
check (TM 1-1520-238-T).
m. Install flex chute, turret, and area weapon
(TM 9-1090-208-23).
n. Install access panels B60 and L200 (para 2.2).
o. Inspect (QA).
