11.153. PILOT DIRECTIONAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) INSTALLATION continued
11.153.3. Installation
a. Install SPAD (1) on mounting bracket (2).
Torque nut (3) 30 to 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Install bushing (4) and bearing (5) in SPAD
(1).
(2) Position SPAD (1) on bracket (2) with arm (6)
to left side of aircraft.
(3) Install bolt (7) through washer (8) and washer
(9) in shaft (10).
(4) Install shaft (10) with bolt (7), washer (8), and
washer (9) through bracket (2) and SPAD (1).
(5) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (7) (para 11.1).
NOTE
Install retainer with large washer face to-
ward mounting bracket.
(6) Install retainer (11) and nut (3).
(7) Torque nut (3) to 30 INCH-POUNDS. Use
torque wrench.
(8) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(9) Install new cotter pin (12).
NOTE
Go to step c if rig pins are installed in F.S.
110 and F.S. 164 directional bellcranks.
b. Place directional flight controls in neutral
position.
