DIRECTIONAL MAGNETIC BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
f. Remove magnetic brake (19) from pilots floor
(20).
NOTE
Identify position of laminated washers for
proper placement during installation.
(1) Remove nut (21) and washers (22) from bolt
(23).
(2) Remove bolt (23) and washers (22) from bell-
crank shaft (24).
(3) Remove four bolts (25), outside washers
(26), inside washers (26), and laminated
washers (27).
(4) Slide brake shaft (28) out of shaft (24).
(5) Remove brake (19).
NOTE
Identify position of shim and spacer rings
for proper placement during installation.
(6) Remove shim (28.1), spacer rings (28.2) and
(28.3) from shaft (28).

a. Clean removed and attaching parts (para
1.47).
11.176.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 11.5).
b. Check removed and attaching parts for corro-
sion (para 1.49).
