11.178. DIRECTIONAL FEEL SPRING CARTRIDGE INSTALLATION – continued
11.178.3. Installation
a. Install feel spring feel cartridge (1) on magnet-
ic brake arm (2). Torque nut (3) 30 to 40 INCH-
POUNDS.
(1) Position boot (4) on cartridge (1) by sliding
boot (4) over cartridge (1) so that large open-
ing is on same side as rod end.
(2) Aline cartridge (1) with arm (2).
(3) Install bolt (5) through washer (6), bushing
(7), arm (2), and cartridge (1).
(4) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (5) (para 11.1).
(5) Install nut (3). Torque nut (3) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(6) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(7) Install new cotter pin (8).
CAUTION
To prevent operational failure of feel
spring cartridge, rod end shall not be
stretched to aline rod end with SPAD.
