q. Clean power train and apply a thin coat of corrosion preventive compound to all exposed metal
surfaces. Use cloth (item 52, App F), dry cleaning solvent (item 74, App F), and corrosion preventive
compound (item 62, App F).
(1) Cover and secure power train. Use barrier material (item 32, App F) and tape (item 207, App F).
CAUTION
Do not allow tape (item 207, App F) to contact canopy panels.
r. Seal and secure all transmission and gearbox vents. Use barrier material (item 32, App F) and tape
(item 207, App F).
s. Perform battery compartment preservation.
(1) Remove battery (para 9.40).
(2) Seal receptacle and bring to battery shop. Use tape (item 207, App F).
(3) Wrap and secure battery connector to airframe. Use barrier material (item 32, App F) and tape (item 207,
App F).
(4) Clean battery compartment (para 1.50).
(5) Seal vent holes. Use tape (item 207, App F).
t. Apply a thin coat of hydraulic fluid to hydraulic boost cylinder actuator piston rods. Use hydraulic fluid
(item 92, App F).
u. Apply a thin coat of corrosion preventive compound to exposed metal surfaces of main rotor mast and
rotating controls. Use corrosion preventive compound (item 62, App F).
v. Wrap and secure exposed metal surfaces of main rotor mast and rotating controls. Use barrier material
(item 32, App F) and tape (item 207, App F).
w. Apply a thin coat of hydraulic fluid to landing gear piston rods, gun turret, and pylon actuator. Use
hydraulic fluid (item 92, App F).
x. Wrap and secure landing gear piston rods, gun turret, and pylon actuator. Use barrier material (item 32,
App F) and tape (item 207, App F).
