FORWARD FUEL CELL VENT TUBE REPLACEMENT – continued
10.23.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install tube (5) and clamp (4).
(1) In forward fuel cell, one person install clamp
(4) on tube (5).
(2) Lubricate new packing with retainer (12). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Install bolt (6), washer (11), and packing with
retainer (12) in hole of panel (7).
(4) Inside forward fuel cell, install spacer (10)
and clamp (4) on bolt (6).
(5) Install washer (9) and nut (8). Do not tighten
nut (8).
b. Install tube (5) and clamp (13).
(1) Install clamp (13) on tube (5).
(2) Install screw (14) through clamp (13) and
clamp (17).
(3) Install washer (16) and nut (15) on screw
(14). Do not tighten nut (15).
