10.34.6. Repair
a. Repair neck by replacing nutplates
(TM 1-1500-204-23).
10.34.7. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Apply sealant to inside mating surface of neck
(2). Use sealing compound (item 177, App F).
b. Install neck (5) through opening (17).
(1) Lubricate new packing (18). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Install packing (18) in mounting pad (13).
(3) Slide filler neck (5) through opening (17).
(4) Pull fuel/defuel check valve chain (19)
through port (2). Secure chain (19) in locking
slot (20).
