AFT FUEL CELL FUEL/DEFUEL CHECK VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
10.35.3. Removal
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Remove gravity fill cap (1) from gravity fill port
(2).
(1) Turn cap (1) to open position.
(2) Pull cap (1) out of port (2).
b. Remove filler cap chain assembly (3).
(1) Spread and turn spiral ring (4) until chain end
(5) is free.
c. Remove fuel/defuel check valve (6) from
mounting pad (7).
(1) Remove six bolts (8) and washers (9).
(2) Remove and discard packing (10) from pad
(7).
(3) Remove valve (6) from fuel cell.
10.35.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
