AFT FUEL CELL INSTALLATION – continued
m. Install cover plate (23) on filler neck mounting
pad (24) inside fuel cell (2).
(1) Install six bolts (25) and washers (26).
n. Install cover plate (27) on fuel cell access cov-
er mounting pad (28).
(1) Install 24 bolts (29) and washers (30).
o. Exhaust air from fuel cell (2). Use vacuum
cleaner.
(1) Install vacuum adapter (31) on quick-discon-
nect plug (32).
(2) Install vacuum cleaner hose (33) on vacuum
adapter (31).
(3) Turn shutoff valve knob (34) counterclock-
wise to open valve (35).
(4) Start vacuum cleaner (36) to remove air from
fuel cell (2).
(5) Continue to collapse fuel cell (2). Bind cell
with cargo straps (37) from fuel cell kit.
NOTE
After installation of the straps, it may be
possible to collapse the cell by reapplying
vacuum and cinching down the straps at
the same time.
(6) Position straps (37) so buckles (38) are ac-
cessible when fuel cell (2) is installed.
(7) Turn knob (34) clockwise to close valve (35).
(8) Shutoff vacuum cleaner (36).
(9) Remove hose (33) from adapter (31).
(10) Remove vacuum adapter (31) from plug (32).
