PYLON ACTUATOR AND TOP PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - continued
d. Remove actuator (14) and plate (10) from py-
lon (15).
(1) Remove six bolts (16) with washers (17) from
plate (10).
(2) Slip plate (9) through plate (10).
(3) Pull actuator (14) and plate (10) out top of
pylon (15).
16.9.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe actuator, top plate, and mounting area
with a clean rag.
16.9.5. Inspection
a. Check elastic seal (18) for tears and excessive
wear. None allowed.
b. Check actuator, top plate, and mounting area
for cracks. None allowed. If cracks are sus-
pected, perform nondestructive inspection
(TM 1-1520-264-23).
c. Check nutplates for damage (para 16.1).
d. Check actuator and top plate for sheared or
damaged mounting bolts. None allowed.
e. Check actuator and top plate and connector
plate for corrosion (para 1.49).
f. Check actuator for leaks (para 7.2).
e. Check pylon yoke bushings (19) for visual
wear. If missing or visually worn, replace (para
16.25).
