d. When working on harness installed in aircraft,
attach static ground bus (9) to wafer (6). Very
gentle insertion is sufficient for static grounding.
NOTE
Wafers are identified as A or B to corre-
spond to A or B side of connector. Con-
tacts are 1 thru 10 (1.0 INCH) or 1 thru 20
(2.0 INCH).
e. Identify wires (10) to be removed from wafer
(6).
f. Make a shallow cut along length of wafer
sleeve (11). It is not necessary to cut through
sleeve (11).
g. Install wafer (6) in repair fixture (12).
(1) Install wafer key (13) facing up under clamp-
ing cover (14).
h. Attach ground lead (15) to a reliable ground.
CAUTION
When heating single sleeve, use shields
to isolate sleeve and prevent damage to
other sleeves. If more than one sleeve or
a row of sleeves is being heated, begin
heating at one end of sleeves. Direct heat
so next sleeve will be preheated.
