AFT FUEL CELL UPPER VENT ADAPTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
b. Install covers (9) and (10) on deck (11).
(1) Lubricate eight new packings with retainers
(13). Use petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Aline covers (9) and (10) with screw holes in
deck (11).
(3) Install eight packings with retainers (13) and
screws (12).
c. Install tube (1) and tube (2).
(1) Hold union (4). Use open end wrench.
(2) Install tube nut (5) on union (4). Use open end
wrench.
(3) Install tube nut (3) on fitting (19).
d. Install aft fuel cell upper vent tube (para
10.30).
e. Install clamp (8).
(1) Install screw (6) through washer (7) and
clamp (8).
f. Inspect (QA).
g. Apply sealing compound as necessary to fillet
seal to access covers (9) and (10). Use sealing
compound (item 175, App F).
h. Perform pressure refueling/defueling mainte-
nance operational check (TM 1-1520-238-T).
i. Secure access doors T250L, T250R, T290L,
T290R, and L325 (para 2.2).
