NITROGEN INERT VENT VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
10.122.6. Installation
a. Install nipples (6) and (8) into valve (5).
(1) Place valve (5) in machinist’s vise. Use vise.
(2) Lubricate new packings (13) and (14). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(3) Lubricate threads of nipples (6) and (8). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(4) Install packing (13) on nipple (6).
(5) Install packing (14) on nipple (8).
(6) Install nipple (6) in valve (5). Tighten nipple
(6).
(7) Install nipple (8) in valve (5). Tighten nipple
(8).
(8) Remove valve (5) from vise.
b. Install valve (5) in mounting position on deck
(10).
(1) Position valve (5) with arrow pointing forward.
(2) Install two screws (11) with washers (12)
through valve (5) into deck aft mounting holes
(15).
