TORQUE LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION continued
c. Install torque link (1) to right side of bellcrank
(2). Torque nut (5) 300 to 700 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Aline link (1) with bellcrank (2).
(2) Install spacer (9) in bellcrank (2).
CAUTION
Threads of bolt and nut shall be clean,
and compound free. Contaminated
threads can cause improper torque,
which may cause damage to flight control
system.
NOTE
Maximum of two washers allowed under
bolt head to ensure bearing clamp-up
and pin alinement.
(3) Apply a light coat of corrosion preventive
compound to shank of bolt (4). Use corrosion
preventive compound (item 62A, App F).
(4) Install bolt (4) through washer(s) (8) (if re-
quired), spacer (9), bellcrank (2), and link (1).
(5) Hold bolt (4). Install washer (7) and nut (5).
Use open end wrench and socket.
(6) Torque nut (5) to 300 INCH-POUNDS. Use
torque wrench, adapter, and socket.
(7) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 700 INCH-POUNDS.
(8) Install new cotter pin (3).
(9) Apply sealing compound around bolt (4)
head, washer (8), and nut (5). Use sealing
compound (item 176, App F).
d. Inspect (QA).
e. Install access fairing T205L (para 2.2).
f Perform flight control system maintenance
operational check (TM 1-1520-238-T).
